Summer

You know it's summer when we all go outside to play after dinner. And we stay out for a couple hours.

It was super rainy and grey today and then, just like that, after dinner the skies cleared up and the sun was out. As Jamie says, it was "daytime." (Because if the sun's not out, it's obviously not daytime.)

Maria and Daddy raced...

...which led to tears when Jamie was neither invited nor won the race.

Maria rode her bike (and gave a passing wave each time).

Jamie skateboarded. Or at least kicked around the skateboard.

What, you wear pants when you play outside? You're ridiculous.

Alice hung out in her backpack...

...but really wanted to get out....
....really, REALLY wanted to get out....
....she screamed to get out....
....but realized she was there to stay, so she went back to sucking her thumb (who is her best friend).

I cannot wait to spend the summers just like this. I heart summer.
