This is Us

I am a 25 year old mama to 4 (yes, FOUR) babies: Maria, Jamie, Alice, and soon-to-be Charlotte. My husband Danny and I are super busy! We spend our days playing dress up, reading, "doing art," laughing, and we definitely watch our fair share of Noggin.

Halloween

Yesterday was October 31st. You know....HALLOWEEN!

We've only been waiting for this day since July...

...when Maria found this costume in Chasing Fireflies:

If that's not hysterical, tell me what is.

Marie Antoinette? I'm laughing just thinking about it. But it is so very Maria Grace. The wig was the best part, obviously. Giant, full, and with a feather stuck right on top. She played the part well and remembered her line: "Let them eat cake!" She had a history lesson, learning that Marie Antoinette was the Queen of France and the archduchess of Austria (I really hope that is correct), she said, "let them eat cake," and she got her head cut off. By the dreaded government.

Jamie was Buzz of course. Buzz Lightyear. Pretty much the best superhero of all.

And baby Alice was supposed to be a cupcake. She was, actually, a cupcake for the school's Family Fun Festival. But she quickly learned she hated that costume. So on Halloween day, she was a pretty pink skeleton (thanks to Cenone). So much better to have a happy smiling skeleton than a whiny, sad cupcake.

We went trick or treating of course.
Great grandma and grandpa was stop number one. Number one on a list of many.
And yes...he is barefoot. And yes...it was only 50 degrees out. Apparently "Buzz doesn't wear shoes!!" which is true...he wears boots...but where on earth was I going to find plastic Buzz boots? No where. So he went barefoot. Worst mom of the year award, right here.
They were quite a pair.

We started the trick or treating early, as you can tell. We started here, then went to great grandpas, then to a couple of friends' houses, then grandma and grandpa Prasil's, then we took a rest at home. Then the Kubiak's house, the houses in between ours and the Kubiak's, then another rest. Danny made gumbo (delish) and then we were out again. We always go to Rae and Jeff's house and they spoil the kids rotten...after that, Uncle Pat and Whitney took them around. I am happy to announce that we now have candy to last me, I mean the kids, for weeks.
