This is Us

I am a 25 year old mama to 4 (yes, FOUR) babies: Maria, Jamie, Alice, and soon-to-be Charlotte. My husband Danny and I are super busy! We spend our days playing dress up, reading, "doing art," laughing, and we definitely watch our fair share of Noggin.

Here Comes the Sun (cue the music...)

Yesterday was a beautiful day. I don't just mean the sun was shining...

...it was warm, too.

We had our door open.

January-1

And if you were to step out of the open door and on to our deck, you'd see this:

January-2

The kids were outside, playing and playing and playing.

It was the first time really playing on the swing set and slide since October, so new tricks had to be tried out.

Success.

No hands? He's nuts....

Eating a waffle and hanging out at the top of the slide? Crazy.

January-10

And a little friendly shove from your little sister is always appreciated.

January-12

Ah, the double passenger....

We are this excited for warm weather:

January-19

Excited enough that we pulled out our fanny packs (just Jamie, really, but if I had one, I would totally have rocked it yesterday) and wore them all day, just in case we found something while playing outside that might need to go in said pack.

Nothing was found, but if something was found, wouldn't we all have been happy that Jamie's fanny pack was available?

I don't pick up dog poop (what? I'm pregnant...)

But Danny does.

And he does an awesome job, too.

January-23

And this spot on the deck is begging for us to use it. And I cannot wait for warm weather. I would settle for 60 degrees at this point. Just give me something where jeans and a sweater is enough, and I'll be happy for a while.

Later that day, Maria had a playdate with Payton. Oh, how we love Payton. She is a fun, happy friend who Maria loves to play with. It was originally going to be at our house, but since death (and by death, I just mean sickness) paid us a visit, but decided to leave, Payton's mom came to get Maria and take her to her house.

For, like, 4 hours.

That's crazy talk in the world of playdates.

But Maria had a blast.

And so did her doll, who just so happens to be the exact doll that Payton has (we had no idea) and who was wearing the exact same figure skating outfit as Payton's doll.

I guess that is crazy talk. Except it isn't, it's all true, as if this playdate was meant to be.

January-26

Bottom line: we can't wait for spring and summer, when it's an all-day play outside fest, playdates seem to come around every other day (at least), we eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner out on the deck, and we are holding baby Charlotte instead of just feeling her kick my bladder....

....c'mon, spring.
