Maria and her Ashes

Today is Ash Wednesday, and since Maria attends a Catholic elementary school, they go to mass and receive ashes.

I'm not sure if you can see them still, but there it is: the little cross smudge from Ash Wednesday.

And if you look a little bit closer (but I think it has all washed off by now) you can see that she made her ashes into eye shadow.

Eye. Shadow.

Nothing like a little fashion on a rainy, quiet Ash Wednesday.
